The beach boasts great swimming and you can hire kayaks and stand up paddle boards (open everyday during the high seasons of school holidays, long weekends and Easter), and just a 150m stroll along the foreshore brings you to a delicious array of places to eat and drink, plus a selection of shops. At the eastern end of the bay, 600m from your apartment, is magnificent Tomaree National Park which offers spectacular views of the stunning Port Stephens coastline from its summit. There are also plenty of walking and bike tracks on offer, and just a 5-minute drive will take you to Nelson Bay.
