At the eastern end of the bay, 600m from your apartment, is magnificent Tomaree National Park which offers spectacular views of the stunning Port Stephens coastline from its summit. There are also plenty of walking and bike tracks on offer, and just a 5-minute drive will take you to Nelson Bay.
