Fingal Bay

Fingal Bay

To escape the holiday crowds that Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay can attract, just keep driving 10 more minutes and breath in the fresh sea air. You are still close enough to access all of Port Stephens best attractions, but will be able to really relax.

Fingal Bay is located on the ocean side of the Tomaree Peninsula and has spectacular Fingal Beach, which is patrolled (and was the setting for the famous ‘Where the bloody hell are you?’ tourism commercial). Go swimming, surfing or fishing. There is the Fingal Bay Surf Club and Longboat Cafe (open breakfast, lunch and dinner), Fingal Bay Sports Club for affordable meals, as well as parks, BBQ areas and cycleways.

During the whale migration (mid May until mid November), keep your eyes on the ocean as Fingal Bay offers land based whale watching. Barry Park overlooks the ocean and offers views up and down the coast (the Humpback whale highway).
