The Stockton Beach Sand Dunes (Worimi Conservation Lands) need to be seen to be believed, stretching 32 kilometres from Anna Bay in the North to Stockton (Newcastle) in the South. Covering an area of over 4,000 hectares, there are dunes rising up to 40 metres high between bushland and the beach.
The area is co-managed by the Aboriginal Traditional Owners, the Worimi people, and the National Parks and Wildlife Service, with a focus on protecting the natural and cultural values of the landscape, while promoting safe and sustainable recreational and commercial use.
Stockton Beach is a soft adventure playground where you can go four wheel driving or join a 4WD tour, go sandboarding, take a camel ride, go horse riding, join a quad bike tour and enjoy some of Port Stephens best surf beaches (Birubi Beach is also patrolled in the warmer months) and some amazing beach and rock fishing spots (keep an eye out for the migrating Humpback whales as they pass by between May and November as well).
