Moving to Port Stephens

Port Stephens is a ‘Blue Water Wonderland,’ located on the East coast of Australia, just 2.5 hours drive North of Sydney and one hour North of Newcastle.

Port Stephens is 979km2 and has a growing population of over 64,000 (and projected growth of 23,000 over the next 15 years). The main employment sectors in the region are retail, tourism, government and defence, transport and logistics, manufacturing and construction. Port Stephens is also home to a growing number of retirees and is a sought after retirement destination.

Newcastle Airport is located within Port Stephens with regular flights connecting the region to Melbourne, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sydney and regional centres. Port Stephens Coaches also provide a regular service around the peninsula, to Newcastle, Newcastle Airport and Sydney.

Why wouldn’t you live here…? We have a stunning Harbour that is over two times larger than Sydney Harbour and home to around 160 bottlenose dolphins year round, a sand dune system that stretches along 32 kilometres of beach (a great spot for fishing) and Tomaree National Park including the Tomaree Headland walk with the best views of the Harbour and Outer Islands. Not to mention the climate – we average a minimum of 12.4 degrees and a maximum of 22.6 degrees with a healthy 1,328mm of rain annually.

Enjoy the Port Stephens lifestyle without the high costs and stress of city living!
