Winter in Port Stephens

Why would you holiday in Port Stephens in Winter? Because Winter in Port Stephens is just as good as Summer and is a well kept secret. There is still plenty happening, it’s the cheapest time to visit, we have a great climate (with an average daily temperature of 18 degrees celcius during the day) and there are no crowds. The whales visit us each Winter in big numbers, maybe they are onto something?

If you want to fill your days, then get up early and walk to the top of Tomaree Headland for breathtaking views up and down the coast (look out for those whales), bring your bike and set out on some of Port Stephens cycleways, challenge yourself with 9 or 18 holes of golf, visit Port Stephens attractions (Australian Shark & Ray Centre, Toboggan Hill Park, Fighter World, Murrays Brewery, Oakvale Farm & Fauna World), join a dolphin or whale watch cruise, catch the ferry to Tea Gardens for lunch, go horse riding, join a 4WD tour on Stockton Sand Dunes (or ride a quad bike) and finish up with a sunset walk along a deserted beach.

Or, use the break for total relaxation, an excuse to do absolutely nothing. Book a property with a fabulous waterview, bring a good book or some magazines, sleep in, settle in for long lazy brunches or lunches at local cafes and restaurants, go and see a movie, browse through boutique shops. Don’t be in a hurry and don’t worry about the time.

Don’t let Winter stand in your way… Port Stephens is great in any weather and Alloggio have over 500 self contained properties to pick from (a home away from home but better than home).
